Getting Frank: An Overview of the Frank Dictionary

At SVARA, we recommend learning with the two resources we lovingly refer to as “Jastrow” and “Frank.” This session will focus on understanding R’Yitzhak Frank’s critical publication, The Practical Talmud Dictionary. This relatively short but exceptionally useful reference tool has so much to offer, and together we’ll learn how to identify when Frank is likely to be more helpful than Jastrow, some of the key phrases Frank can help us unpack, and how this resource can help us understand the structure and flow of the Talmud.
