Queerly Original: The Midrash on Genesis
Wednesdays, October 30th through December 18th
7-9pm ET | 6-8pm CT | 4-6pm PT
Taught by Rabbi Bronwen Mullin
Equal parts storytelling, theological drama and halakhic poetry, Midrash is the original queer-rabbinic project. In so many ways, it paved the way for Talmud to come into being by taking on G!D and Torah in an epic CRASH that Judaism has reveled in ever since. For the first time ever, we’re spending an entire zman on Beresheit Rabbah בראשית רבה, the Midrash on Genesis and the creation of human beings. We’ll read the text in the original Hebrew using the SVARA method, complete with a few surprises in store (including guest appearances from Plato’s Symposium as well as Hedwig and the Angry Inch). Come and learn!
Who is this space for?
