Amir Starr Weg has been a dedicated SVARA-nik since he first entered the SVARA and Mishkan Bet Midrash in 2013. He’s held many roles at the Yeshiva over the years, is an alum of the SVARA Teaching Kollel, and is proud to be a homegrown faculty member. Outside of work, Amir is a leader at Higaleh Nah, a lay-led chavurah rooted in Chicago. In addition to Talmud, his teaching (and learning!) interests include grammar and liturgy. In past lives, he’s dabbled in technical theater, urban agriculture, and environmental science. He and his partner Zack met at Queer Talmud Camp and live together in an apartment with an incredible view of Lake Michigan.
