Mati is a student rabbi at the École Rabbinique de Paris and the Educational Director and Peer Support Director of the Jewish Autism Network, where he leads educational programs and support groups for hundreds of autistic members of the Jewish community each month. An autistic and multi-disabled activist, Mati works as an autism, neurodiversity, and disability educator, peer-support coach, and advocate for the rights of all disabled people. Through his consulting work, Mati supports individuals and organizations in creating inclusive spaces and developing practical tools to empower disabled communities.

His decision to pursue rabbinical school later in life was sparked by SVARA’s radical approach to learning and being a SVARA learner, which also fundamentally shaped his framework for teaching Talmud through a Neuroqueer lens. Committed to creating progressive Jewish spaces centered around marginalized groups, Mati aims to connect with individuals engaged in similar initiatives across Europe.

He is an alumnus of Indiana University, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Sciences Po Paris. Mati is currently pursuing his doctorate on neurodivergence and madness in rabbinic literature and is completing his MTh in Disability Theology at the University of Aberdeen. He is an amateur pizzaiiolo, a fine bookbinder, and the co-editor of the forthcoming Neurodivergent Torah (Ben Yehuda Press, 2027).
