Nat Cohen took their first SVARA class, Queer Talmud for Beginner’s Mind, in the spring of 2022. They were bowled over by the joy they felt studying Talmud in this community, and they’re so excited to support fellow SVARA-niks and keep learning. Nat is a licensed psychotherapist with a background in community psychology. They’re a big believer in mutual aid and spent many years participating in clinic escorting and food distribution projects. Nat loves reading speculative fiction, playing a wide variety of games, and veganizing the Moroccan and Eastern European food they grew up with. Originally from Tongva land (greater Los Angeles), they recently moved north to Nooksack and Semiahmoo land, aka Bellingham WA, where you can find them meandering through the woods, swimming in the bay, and practicing wheel-throwing.
